Broome Tri Club is proud to be the most isolated Triathlon Club in Australia.
Located in the far northwest corner of Western Australia, Broome is where the red pindan desert meets the cobalt green waters of the Indian Ocean. It is where the pristine white sands of the famous Cable Beach contrast with historic rock formations amidst a colourful blend of culture and diversity.
With these magnificent surroundings, what better place to have a Triathlon Club and the annual Cable Beach Triathlon. The Broome Tri Club is proud to have grown to a membership base of 50 in 2013. We now boast several Ironmen and women and many accomplished athletes, in addition to many people starting out in this addictive sport.
Our season runs all year round and culminates in the Cable Beach Triathlon in late winter or early spring...the perfect time in Broome, when the southern part of Australia is looking for relief from the winter months!
The Broome Tri Club cater to all level of ability. We encourage participation from members and non-members, young and old and love to facilitate the development of everyone involved. We wish to nurture all our participants with encouragement and assistance and endeavour to hold training sessions every two weeks for all those wishing to contribute.
If you are interested in giving the sport of Triathlon a go and you are living in Broome or passing through, please contact the Broome Tri Club. Do not be intimidated by the sport of Triathlon. Everyone has to start somewhere. All you need is a love of activity and a great attitude. Fat tyres, an old pair of togs and a decent pair of treads will get you through!
